DENIZ DEMIRORS, EMBA – President (Houston, Texas)
Deniz Demirors is a personal branding and career management consultant with over twenty two years of experience in corporate and non-profit settings. She is currently a Global Team Leader & Career Consultant for Domestic & Global Service for REA - Partners in Transition. Deniz is an active member of the Turkish-American community in the Houston area and was the president of American Turkish Association of Houston (aka ATA Houston) in 2011 & 2012. She is a founding member and the President of the Education for Women in Turkey Fund (aka EWTF). She is also an Advisory Board member of Cameron School of Business at the University of St. Thomas.
SAMIYE ARDIC – Vice President (Sugar Land, Texas)
Samiye Ardic is a librarian with experience in Middle East Technical University and Central Bank of Turkey libraries. She is a graduate of the Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. Samiye is an active volunteer of the Turkish-American community in the Houston area, in her neighborhood, and in FBISD schools.
ELCIN KALELI – Treasurer (Houston, Texas)
Elcin Kaleli has been in real estate business since 2002. She is a former diplomat and translator/interpreter holding a Masters degree in this field. Ms. Kaleli is married and lives in Houston. She is an active member of the American-Turkish community and has formerly served in the Executive Committee for American Turkish Association as the Marketing VP. A passionate animal-rights advocate, she is a volunteer with SPCA Houston.
JULIA (HULYA) UNAY – Treasurer (Houston, Texas)
Julia (Hulya) Unay is a CRM Coordinator with Gillman Honda. She has been with the Gillman Companies for 19 years, holding various positions. She has worked as Radio DJ in Istanbul before coming to Houston. Julia has been involved with the Turkish community for many years and actively participated at several events. She also participates in the “ABC 13’s Share your Holidays Food Drive” and “March of Dimes” events thru her company each year.
DERYA POERSCHKE – (Houston, Texas)
Derya is a Bilkent University graduate with Archaeology and History of Art degree. She also holds a degree in Business Management from Houston Community College. Derya and her husband have been an active volunteer of American Turkish Association of Houston (ATA Houston) and Women for Education sub-group. She is very passionate about education especially girls education that leads to their economic independence.
MUGE SIMSEK, MBA – (Houston, Texas)
Mugé received her undergraduate degree in Psychological Counseling from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 1999. In 2000, she completed her master’s in business administration at The University of Houston-Clear Lake in Texas. Mugé has been working in market research industry for more than 13 years. Currently, she is a research analyst for The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Mugé have been very active in the American Turkish Association of Houston (ATA Houston). She joined the ATA Turkish Folk Dance Group in 2001 and performed international festivals, which gave her opportunities to promote Turkish culture in the U.S. Mugé also served in executive committee and as a board of director in 2011.
JANA CANAN BEYOGLU – (Houston, Texas)
Jana Canan Beyoglu is graduated from Istanbul University where she received a BS in Geophysics. She is currently working in TGSNopec as a Team Leader-Senior Processing Geophysicist.
